| dc.description | A simulation model was developed and validated for studing and predicting productive trends of dairy cows under intensive grazing on Arequipa coast, Perú. The model simulates pasture effects on grazing behaviour considering quality and quantity of forage. In addition it simulates total dry matter intake and suplementation interaction. It estimates milk production as a function of protein and metabolizable energy intakes. Validation of the model shows good adjustment with real production and animal intake data.Se desarrolló y validó un modelo matemático de simulación para estudiar y predecir las tendencias productivas de vacas lecheras en pastoreo intensivo, en la costa de Arequipa, Perú. El modelo simula el efecto de la pastura sobre el funcionamiento del pastoreo considerando calidad y cantidad de forraje. Con ello simula consumo total de materia seca y su interacción con la suplementación. La producción de leche es estimada con los consumos de proteína y energía metabolizable. La validación del modelo mostró buen ajuste con producción y consumo animal medidos experimentalmente. | en-US |
