dc.descriptionThis article deals with the dialogue between literature and visual arts through the analysis of the Belgian-Mexican artist Francis Alÿs parody in the novel Bajo Influencia (2010), by the Argentine writer María Sonia Cristoff. As an ironic approach to contem- porary art world and the figure of the artist, Cristoff’s work reinterprets the flâneur tradition through the story of Cecilio Rave, a character who decides to become an artist by copying the performances of Francis Alÿs. In this literal reading of Alÿs’s work, the novel ironically reflects on the contemporary art practice and the aesthetics of urban walking. Thus, in dialog with a hybrid cartography where artistic forms are integrated within the global flow of knowledge, Cristoff’s novel proposes in nomadism and wan- dering an art that critically assess globalization and the artistic tradition.en-US
dc.descriptionEste trabajo aborda el diálogo entre literatura y artes visuales mediante la parodia a la obra del artista belga-mexicano Francis Alÿs en la novela Bajo Influencia (2010), de la escritora argentina María Sonia Cristoff. Como una lectura irónica del mundo del arte contemporáneo y de la figura del artista, la obra de Cristoff relee la tradición del flâneur por medio de la historia de Cecilio Rave, un personaje que decide convertirse en artista copiando las performances de Francis Alÿs. En esa lectura literal de la obra de Alÿs, la novela reflexiona irónicamente acerca del sistema del arte contemporáneo y la estética de la caminata urbana. De este modo, como parte de una cartografía híbrida donde las formas artísticas se inscriben en el flujo global de saberes, el texto de Cristoff propone en el nomadismo y la errancia un arte que críticamente revisa la globalización y la tradición artística.es-ES
