The present paper talks about the confluence of writers Na hui Olin and Gabriela Mistral in post-revolutionary Mexico between 1922-1923 and their attempts to define their subjectivity and be part of a public space still predominantly masculine. The author claims that, although both women use different strategies to accomplish that goal, they have in common a clear self-conscience that both build not only through theirwriting but also through their public image, which is ambiguous and ambivalent, a clear reflex of a moment in which Mexico lived a phase of transition and self-definition in its attempt to reach modernity.El siguiente ensayo se refiere a la confluencia de las poetas Gabriela Mistral y Nahui Olin en el México postrevolucionario entre 1922 y 1923 y sus intentos por definir su subjetividad y formar parte del espacio público aun principalmente masculino. La autora sostiene que si bien ambas mujeres utilizan distintas estrategias para llevar ese objetivo a cabo, presentan en común una evidente autoconciencia de sí mismas,lo que se observa no solo mediante su obra, sino también por su imagen, ambigua y contradictoria, lo que es reflejo de un momento en que México vivía una fase de transición y autodefinición en su intento por alcanzar la modernidad.
