In this essay, I address Metales Pesados (1995) by the Chilean poet Yanko González in order to study it as an aesthetic response to the social imagery on violence, drugs abuse and crime among the marginal youth gangs. This literary work makes visible, through the rhetoric of performance, the cliches that medias produce on this social situation and that social imagery absorbs. Literary analysis will detect this accentuationof performatic visibility in the following aspects: the identity of the urban tribes, the anthropologist/poet position and the acoustic saturation of the text.En este ensayo me propongo estudiar la obra poética Metales Pesados (1995) de Yanko González en una línea de proliferación estética con el imaginario social urbano sobre violencia, drogadicción y criminalidad en las pandillas juveniles marginales. En esta obra se produce una visibilización en un sentido performático de los clichés, proporcionados por los medios y asumidos por el imaginario, sobre tal realidad social. El análisis se encargará de detectar tal visibilización performática en la proyección identitaria de las tribus urbanas, en la actitud del antropólogo-poeta, y en la saturación sonora del texto.
