| dc.description | This article studies the written production and the networks of intellectual sociability developed by Félix Frías during his stay in France, between 1848 and 1855. Throughout this period, while working as a correspondent for El Mercurio, Frías broke his ties with the historicist political language that the members of the Joven Generación Argentina had adopted a decade before. His thinking began to manifest a negative historical and anthropological perspective, characterized by a timeless duality between good and evil, morality and corruption. He structured instead an ultramontane and conservative language, centered on Catholicism and on the figure of the Roman Pontiff as guarantors of order and, in the future, freedom and democracy. | en-US |
| dc.description | El artículo estudia la producción escrita y las redes de sociabilidad intelectual hilvanadas por Félix Frías durante su estadía en Francia, entre 1848 y 1855. A lo largo de este periodo, mientras se desempeñaba como corresponsal de El Mercurio, rompió sus lazos con el lenguaje político-historicista que los integrantes de la Joven Generación Argentina habían hecho suyo una década atrás. Su pensamiento comenzó a manifestar una perspectiva histórica y antropológica negativa, atravesada por una dualidad intemporal entre el bien y el mal, la moral y la corrupción. Estructuró en cambio un lenguaje ultramontano y conservador, centrado en el catolicismo y en la figura del pontífice romano como garantes del orden y, en un futuro, la libertad y la democracia. | es-ES |
