dc.descriptionThe impact of the Spanish Civil War has been widely studied with respect to the Argentine case. The contribution of this article is to study the public and cultural life of one of the most prestigious Spanish institutions in Argentina: the Spanish Cultural Institution of Buenos Aires (ICEBA). While the association was responsible for Spanish cultural diplomacy in the country, the ICEBA had official ties with successive Spanish governments, both democratic and dictatorial. This article focuses on its position relating Franco’s triumph and the different inflections that the ICEBA used surrounding the idea of Hispanidad. The article analyzes the institution’s archives, along with other official archives and press.en-US
dc.descriptionEl impacto de la Guerra Civil española está muy trabajado para el caso argentino. En este trabajo se estudia la vida pública y cultural de una de las más prestigiosas instituciones españolas en Argentina: la Institución Cultural Española de Buenos Aires (ICEBA). En tanto que asociación tenía a su cargo la diplomacia cultural española en el país, tuvo lazos oficiales con los sucesivos gobiernos españoles, tanto democráticos como dictatoriales. Se analiza, en especial, su posicionamiento ante el triunfo de Franco y las diferentes inflexiones que usó de la idea de la hispanidad. Se trabaja con los archivos de la institución estudiada, cotejados con otros archivos oficiales y con prensa.es-ES
