| dc.description | From the perspective of the social use of images, this article studies the relationship between graphic illustration from the Editorial Nacional Gabriela Mistral (ENGM) and the political imaginary of the military government. Using the semantics of pictures, this article analyzes the unique contribution of some representative books to the development of the discourse of the coup as a “second independence.” To that end the article crosses an iconographic analysis and a rhetoric of the image analysis with unpublished documents and government literature, publications from the editorial and pertinent bibliography suggesting that the illustrations, “illustrate” an anti-Marxist and anti-party discourse. This symbolizes the patriotic and the unpatriotic, intensifying the dichotomy of the Allendista and the post-coup experience, and ritualizing the celebration of September eleventh. | en-US |
| dc.description | En la perspectiva del uso social de las imágenes, este artículo estudia la relación entre la ilustración gráfica de la Editorial Nacional Gabriela Mistral (ENGM) y el imaginario político del gobierno militar. Profundizando en la semántica de las estampas de algunos libros representativos, examina su peculiar aporte a la construcción del discurso del golpe militar como “segunda independencia”. Para ello, cruza un análisis iconográfico y de retórica de la imagen con documentos inéditos e impresos del gobierno y la editorial, publicaciones de esta y bibliografía pertinente. Sugiere que las ilustraciones “graficaron” dicho discurso antimarxista y antipartidista, simbolizando lo patriótico y antipatriótico, intensificando dicotómicamente la experiencia allendista y la posgolpe y ritualizando la celebración del 11 de septiembre. | es-ES |
