We highlight their predominance in the international trade and in the industrial activity especially those that reveal a high technological development. The economic and demographic decline of the british immigrants from 1920 is in close relation with the lost of the british influence in Latin America after the First World War. | en-US |
| dc.description | En este trabajo analizamos la importancia de la colectividad británica en el desarrollo económico de Valparaíso (Chile), pese a su limitada presencia, durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. Se hace notar el predominio de la colectividad el comercio internacional como también en la actividad industrial especialmente en aquellas que poseían un mayor desarrollo tecnológico. La disminución de la importancia económica y también demográfica de la colectividad británica en Valparaíso, a partir de la década de 1920, se relaciona directamente con la perdida de influencia británica, en nuestro Continente, luego de la Primera Guerra Mundial. | es-ES |
