| dc.description | This article analyzes the territorial construction of the geographical space called by the Romans as barbaricum during the Antonines. To achieve this we have used the concept of territoriality in the examination and study of the sources and geographical information that we have in the second century for the entire westerns regions of the Empire, particularly in the province of Dacia. The sources used for the development of this article are essentially written, literary and numismatic. It will be argued that barbaricum was a geographical creation of the Roman Empire produced by the consolidation of its own territoriality in the second century through a process of geographical alterity, which designed in its collective political imaginary a vision of the territories located beyond the new borders set by the Roman Empire.Key words: Territoriality, Roman Empire, Antonines, Barbaricum. | en-US |
| dc.description | El presente artículo analiza la construcción territorial del espacio geográfico denominado por los romanos como barbaricum durante los Antoninos. Para lograr lo anterior se ha utilizado el concepto de territorialidad en el examen y estudio de las fuentes e informaciones geográficas que disponemos en el siglo II, centrándonos particularmente en la provincia de Dacia. Las fuentes usadas para el desarrollo de este artículo son esencialmente escritas, literarias y numismáticas. Se sostendrá que el barbaricum fue una creación geográfica del Imperio Romano producida por la consolidación de su propia territorialidad en el siglo II mediante un proceso de alteridad geográfica, el que diseñó en su imaginario político colectivo una visión de los territorios ubicados más allá de las nuevas fronteras fijadas por el Imperio Romano.Palabras clave: Territorialidad, Imperio Romano, Barbaricum, Antoninos. | es-ES |
