dc.description	This paper carries on a comparative analysis of two mitigators, casi que (‘almost that’) and casi (‘almost’). In order to achieve this goal, we have assumed the description of casi proposed by Pons and Schwenter (2011), who establish the interpretations of this adverb. The analysis of several oral copora shows that there is dialectal variation regarding the functions of casi que. Whereas in Venezuelan Spanish casi que has the same interpretations that casi has, in European Spanish casi que can be used in a more reduced number of contexts.	en-US
dc.description	Este trabajo compara los usos de dos atenuadores: ‘casi que’ y ‘casi’. Para ello se ha partido de la caracterización de ‘casi’ realizada por Pons y Schwenter (2011), donde se establecen las distintas lecturas de este adverbio. Las ocurrencias de ‘casi que’ encontradas en varios corpus discursivos han permitido establecer que existe variación dialectal en lo que respecta al uso de ‘casi que’. Se ha comprobado que mientras que en el español de Venezuela ‘casi que’ puede tener todas las lecturas que Pons y Schwenter (2011) establecen para casi, en el español de España el uso de ‘casi que’ está más restringido.	es-ES
