dc.descriptionEl yacimiento de oro El Guanaco es un depósito epitermal de alta sulfuración ubicado en la franja metalogénica paleocena-eocena inferior, en la región de Antofagasta, norte de Chile, 215 km al SE de la ciudad de Antofagasta. El depósito está formado por un sistema de ledges subparalelos constituidos por vuggy silica y en menor medida vetas de cuarzo y enargita. El sector Cachinalito, ubicado en la parte noroeste del yacimiento, está conformado por numerosos ledges que en conjunto presentan una morfología lineal discontinua, de orientación general ENE-OSO y que cambian abruptamente de orientación, espesor, longitud e inclinación, a pocos metros de su corrida. El análisis de la distribución de leyes, el mapeo de detalle realizado a escala del depósito y la identificación de estructuras individuales (ledges) muestra que uno de los factores más importantes en la formación del depósito es el control estructural. El estudio estructural hecho a escala del depósito y del sistema de ledges permitió visualizar las distintas segmentaciones dentro de una estructura general, teniendo en cuenta los tamaños, la continuidad horizontal y vertical, y el grado de conexión entre segmentos de distintas orientaciones, así como determinar las orientaciones con mayor desarrollo de estructuras mineralizadas. La distribución de las leyes permitió caracterizar e identificar los clavos mineralizados dentro de los ledges, interpretar las posibles vías de ascenso de los fluidos mineralizadores, además de dimensionar y separar los sectores mineralizados de alta y baja ley. Este tipo de análisis e identificación de los clavos mineralizados representa una importante herramienta de exploración y ayuda a orientar mejor los sondajes de exploración y/o de producción en este tipo de depósitos.es-ES
dc.descriptionThe high sulfidation epithermal gold deposit El Guanaco is located in the Palaeocene-Lower Eocene metallogenic belt in the Antofagasta Region, northern Chile, 215 km SE of Antofagasta city. The deposit is characterized by a system of sub-parallel ledges made of vuggy silica and quartz enargite veins. In the Cachinalito sector, on the north western side of the ore deposit, the ledges system has a discontinuous linear morphology, with a general ENE-OSO orientation, consisting of many ledges segments that change abruptly in orientation, thickness, length and inclination. Grade analysis distribution, detailed mapping at deposit scale, and identification of individual structures (ledges) shows that one of the key factors in deposit genesis is the structural control. The structural analysis allowed visualizing the different segmentations within a general structure, considering the sizes, horizontal and vertical continuity, degree of connection between ledge segments of different orientations, as well as determining the orientations with greater development of mineralized structures. The distribution of the grades allowed to characterize and identify the ore shoots within the ledges, and to interpret the ascending pathways of the mineralizing fluids by dimensioning and separating the high- and low-grade mineralized sectors. This type of analysis and identification represents an important exploration tool and helps exploration and / or production drilling in this type of deposit.en-US
