| dc.description | La preocupación por los desastres naturales y la televisión ha sido poco explorada como objeto de estudio, aunque sí existen otro tipo de acercamientos -especialmente en Estados Unidos- a partir de reflexiones que vienen desde el mundo del periodismo. Si bien Chile y Latinoamérica han sido marcados durante décadas por desastres naturales, hoy más que nunca con los niveles de desarrollo de las tecnologías e impacto que estas tienen en las audiencias, se vuelve más necesario indagar en los distintos ámbitos de cobertura mediática. Es así como cobran relevancia las preguntas ¿Cómo fue abordado por la televisión abierta una de las catástrofes más grandes experimentadas por nuestro país en las últimas décadas? ¿Qué tipo de tratamiento periodístico se le dio a los temas abordados y qué fuentes fueron citadas en cada nota realizada? ¿Qué tratamiento televisivo recibieron los principales afectados? Este artículo expone el proceso de recopilación y sistematización de conceptos teóricos, estrategias metodológicas y hallazgos empíricos del análisis de contenido de pantalla realizado por el Consejo Nacional de Televisión. Se trata de un instrumento de medición creado con el propósito de contribuir al debate informado y la reflexión sobre la cobertura noticiosa que realizó la televisión abierta chilena sobre esta catástrofe natural. | es-ES |
| dc.description | Concerns about natural disasters and television have been scarcely explored as subject of study. Today, given the levels of technological development and the impact they have on viewers, it is more important than ever to inquire into the different areas of media coverage. The following questions are therefore increasingly relevant: how did national television address one of the greatest catastrophes in our country? What type of journalistic treatment did the subjects and sources cited in each note receive? What kind of journalistic treatment was given to the issues addressed and sources cited in each piece? And what type of journalistic treatment did the most affected receive? This article explores the process of compiling and systematizing theoretical concepts, strategic methodologies, and empirical findings resulting from an analysis of the on-screen content broadcast by the Chilean National Television Council[1].
