dc.descriptionEl objetivo de este artículo es analizar las portadas de seis periódicos españoles del día en que se publicó la noticia de la muerte de Osama Bin Laden, para establecer si se creó una imagen icono global que pueda ser asociada con esta noticia, a pesar de no contar con una imagen del cuerpo muerto de Bin Laden. El estudio demuestra que la ausencia de imágenes de la muerte del terrorista provocó que los medios de comunicación impresos ilustrasen esta noticia con fotografías de temática muy diversa (imágenes de archivo, reacciones de la clase política, celebraciones del pueblo...), pero sin encontrar un referente común que devenga en icono y quede ligado para siempre a la noticia.es-ES
dc.descriptionThe aim of this paper is to analyze the front pages of six Spanish newspapers published the day of the news of Osama Bin Laden’s death to establishwhether it created a global icon image that could be associated with this news. The study shows that the absence of images of the terrorist dead bodycaused that the print media illustrated this news with photographs of diverse topics (such as archival footage or reactions of politicians), butwithout finding an icon image that remains forever linked to this newsen-US
