| dc.description | This article presents the development of a measurement tool created to analyze the capacity of the newspapers to deliver newsworthy information through their pictures. The authors first expose the theoretical principles and methodology used in the design of the tool, to then, after testing its statistical significance, apply it into a set of images from the Chilean newspaper Las Últimas Noticias. The work is part of a wider research proyect, financed by Fondecyt, aimed to evaluate and analyse the informative value of the images showed by newspapers and TV news shows. | en-US |
