dc.description	The following article proposes that Costume telenovela uses two matrices in its representation of the national memory: metaphor, that represents the past as a coming-to-being present, and metonymy, that traumatically embodies the historical conﬂicts that have not been narratively incorporated into the popular discourse. This proposal is part of the research project “Melodrama, subjectivity and history: essays on cinematographic and televisual Chilean ﬁction in the 90s” by Valerio Fuenzalida, Pablo Corro and Constanza Mujica.	en-US
dc.description	El siguiente artículo postula que la telenovela se vale de dos matrices para poner en escena la memoria nacional: la metáfora, que representa al pasado como el llegar a ser del presente, y la metonimia, que encarna traumáticamente los momentos conflictivos de la historia que no han podido sido incorporados narrativamente al discurso popular.
