This second paper, which corresponds to the year 2007, presents the results of the Chilean section of the Iberoamerican Observatory of Television Fiction (Obitel). This national chapter is part of a major comparative study carried out as a joint work of ten Iberoamerican countries. The results shown here were obtained from a quantitative study of broadcasted hours that considers variables of production, exhibition and format/genre of fiction programs presented on Chilean television in 2007. Those results are the basis for an appropiate measurement of the current stage of development of the fiction industry and for detecting mid- and long-term trends.Este artículo presenta los resultados para el año 2007 del segundo informe Obitel (Observatorio Iberoamericano de la Ficción Televisiva), correspondiente a la sección chilena de un estudio comparativo mayor, el cual es un esfuerzo conjunto de diez países de Iberoamérica. Los resultados que aquí se presentan se obtuvieron de un análisis cuantitativo, considerando variables relativas a la producción, exhibición y formato/género de programas ficcionales difundidos por la televisión abierta chilena el año 2007. Estos resultados son la base para dimensionar adecuadamente el desarrollo de la industria nacional, así como para detectar tendencias de mediano plazo.
