dc.descriptionThis article introduces the micro-biography as a research techniquefor the study of social memory. Based on methodological observationsmade in a study of human rights violations in the town of Paine, the authors identify the micro-biography as part of the qualitative method and biographical approach of empirical social sciences. Finally, a use of this research technique is developed for application in the study of memory in Chile.en-US

A partir de observaciones metodológicas desprendidas de un estudio sobre violaciones a los derechos humanos en la localidad rural de Paine, se identifica la microbiografía en los métodos cualitativos y en el enfoque biográfico de las ciencias sociales. Finalmente, se desarrolla el uso de las microbiografías de acuerdo a su aplicación en un estudio de la memoria en Chile.es-ES
