dc.description	The aim of this article is to argue that the right to use their own language in court is a fundamental right protected by Chilean law, intrinsically linked to due process and equality. It argues about the value of culture in a multicultural society and justification for differential treatment of persons belonging to indigenous minorities. The conclusions reflect on the notion of community standards multicultural and oral trials must meet to respect the fundamental rights of the indigenous languages mood involved in criminal proceedings.	en-US
dc.description	El objetivo de este artículo es sostener que el derecho a usar la propia lengua en juicio es un derecho fundamental resguardado por la legislación chilena, intrínsecamente vinculado al debido proceso y a la igualdad. Se argumenta en torno a la valoración de la cultura en una sociedad multicultural y a la justificación de un trato diferenciado para las personas que pertenecen a minorías indígenas. Las conclusiones reflexionan sobre la noción de comunidad multicultural y sobre los estándares que los juicios orales deben satisfacer para respetar los derechos fundamentales de talante lingüístico de los indígenas que intervienen en un proceso penal.	es-ES
