There is a valuable heritage of design made in Chile that is being lost because there is no institution, public or private, protecting it. Some work has been saved as posters of the Larrea brothers in the Catholic University, and some furniture of Garretón manufactured in Singal. But, what about the graphic design of diseñadores asociados, Hergar editions, Berthelon, Guillermo Tejeda, Waldo González and, further back, Mauricio Amster, and Fauré? And the industrial design of Capdevila, Walker and Weiss. Is it too late to recue them? On that we want to raise the alarm, once again: the bad management of our national heritage. Existe un valioso patrimonio del diseño hecho en Chile que se está perdiendo porque no existe institución alguna, pública o privada, que lo esté resguardando. Se han salvado los afiches de los Larrea en la Universidad Católica, algunos muebles de Garretón fabricados en Singal. Y qué decir del diseño gráfico de diseñadores asociados, Hergar ediciones, Berthelon, Guillermo Tejeda, Waldo González y, más atrás, de Mauricio Amster, Fauré. Y el diseño industrial de Capdevila, Walker y Weiss. ¿Ya será tarde para rescatarlos? Sobre eso queremos poner la alarma una vez más: el mal manejo del patrimonio nacional.
