| dc.description | Globalization has contributed to a considerable increase in the movement of not only money and goods, but also of people. Those increasing migratory movements are produced to a world-wide scale and provoke an intensification of the cultural and religious heterogeneity of the destination countries. This creates new challenges to the Democratic Constitutional State, which must guarantee the exercise of religious freedom of people that practice different religions and affiliate to diverse religious confessions. On the other hand, this cultural and religious diversification encourages the aspiration to demand a legal treatment distinguished under the exercise of religious freedom, particularly and in regard to what this study, regarding to the display of religious symbols –fundamentally the hijab– in schools. | en-US |
| dc.description | La globalización ha propiciado un notable incremento de movimientos no sólo de capitales y mercancías, sino también de personas. Esos crecientes movimientos migratorios se producen a escala mundial y provocan en los países de destino una intensificación de la heterogeneidad cultural y religiosa. Ello plantea nuevos desafíos al Estado constitucional democrático, que debe garantizar el ejercicio del derecho a la libertad religiosa de personas que profesan distintas religiones y que se adscriben a diversas confesiones religiosas. Por otra parte, esta diversificación cultural y religiosa alienta la pretensión de exigir un tratamiento jurídico diferenciado al amparo del ejercicio de la libertad religiosa, en particular, y en lo que a este trabajo se refiere, con relación a la exhibición de símbolos religiosos –fundamentalmente el velo islámico– en el ámbito escolar. | es-ES |
