| dc.description | The aim of this research is to understand the relationship between the theoretical approaches that have supported Occupational Therapy practie in Chile and the socio-historical context of the country, from the perspective of the participants. The methodology is qualitative, descriptive with a Grounded Theory design. For the present study, 7 key informants were included, using the semistructured interview. Data analysis is given by the content with which they respond, being codified according to the specific aim of the research. Results offer a particular perspective of the interviewed Occupational Therapists, who make a historical tour over those events that impacted their professional performance. Likewise, they identify which were the knowledge that sustained their practice over the years, to finally establish relationships between historical periods and the exercise of Occupational Therapy in Chile. It is concluded that the events that affect the practice of Occupational Therapists are eminently socio-political. In as much, theoretical approaches used by the professionals, to sustain their practice, presents modifications according to the contextual demands. Finally, we propose the division of the history of Chile and Occupational Therapy, considering the relationship that exists between historical periods and the dominant theoretical approaches according to the contextual need. Notwithstanding the foregoing, it is evident that the theoretical approaches in Occupational Therapy are dynamic and that the use of one type does not necessarily exclude the use of the others. | en-US |
| dc.description | La presente investigación tiene como objetivo comprender la relación existente entre las aproximaciones teóricas que han sustentado la práctica de la Terapia Ocupacional en Chile y el contexto socio histórico del país desde la perspectiva de los/as participantes. La metodología es cualitativa, descriptiva con diseño de Teoría Fundamentada. Para el presente estudio, participan 7 informantes claves utilizándose la entrevista semiestructurada. El análisis está dado por el contenido con el que responden, siendo codificados según los objetivos específicos de la investigación. Los resultados ofrecen una perspectiva en particular de los/as Terapeutas Ocupacionales (TTOO) entrevistados/as quienes hacen un recorrido histórico de aquellos eventos que impactaron en su desempeño profesional. Así mismo, identifican cuáles fueron aquellos conocimientos que sustentaron su práctica a través de los años, para finalmente establecer relaciones entre periodos históricos y el ejercicio de la Terapia Ocupacional en Chile. Se concluye que los eventos que inciden en la práctica de los/as TTOO son eminentemente político-sociales. En tanto, las aproximaciones teóricas utilizadas por los/as profesionales para sustentar su práctica, presentan modificaciones en función de las demandas contextuales. Finalmente, se propone la división de la historia de Chile y de la Terapia Ocupacional, considerando la relación que existe entre periodos históricos y las aproximaciones teóricas dominantes según la necesidad contextual. Sin perjuicio de lo anterior, se evidencia que las aproximaciones teóricas en Terapia Ocupacional son de carácter dinámico y que la utilización de un tipo no necesariamente excluye el uso de las demás. | es-ES |
