This article seeks to investigate the persistence of an understanding of the city as a Europeanizing place, where the original population is homogenized with the Chilean without clear records of their traditional expressions in an urban context. It is necessary to understand the passage of an autonomous and free territory to an urbanized region after the colonization processes undertaken by the State following the interrelated concepts of inhabitance and territory. In this context, the objective of this study is to understand the recovery of Mapuche-Lavkenche cultural expressions within the urban area of Concepción through interviews with Mapuche individuals from different origins (Lavkenche, Pewenche, Nagche and Williche). The results demonstrate the recovery of traditional Lavkenche practices and imaginaries in the interior of the Metropolitan Area of Concepción (AMC) which is both a colonial city and Lavkenche territory in Chile.El presente artículo indaga en la comprensión de la ciudad como lugar europeizante, donde la población originaria se homogeneiza con la chilena sin claros registros de sus expresiones tradicionales en el contexto urbano. Es necesario comprender el paso de un territorio autónomo y libre a una región urbanizada tras los procesos de colonización emprendidos por el Estado a partir de los conceptos interrelacionados del habitar y del territorio. En ese contexto, este estudio tiene por objetivo entender la recuperación de expresiones culturales mapuche-lavkenche al interior del área urbana de Concepción a través de entrevistas con individuos mapuche de distintas procedencias (lavkenche, pewenche, nagche y williche). Los resultados muestran la recuperación de prácticas e imaginarios tradicionales lavkenche en el interior del Área Metropolitana de Concepción (AMC), ciudad de modelo colonial y territorio lavkenche en Chile.
