The article aims to identify the transformations that modified the territory and the ways of inhabiting the Cerro Verde Bajo fishermen's cove, and the strategies implemented by its inhabitants in the face of these changes. It is structured in three periods linked to the national development models that have transformed the coastal edge, the habitat and the ways of inhabiting the cove. These transformations are analyzed from a historical perspective of the Metropolitan Area of fishermen's through a review of primary sources (newspapers of the time, photographs, oral testimonies) and secondary sources (academic articles, history manuals, official documents). At Cerro Verde Bajo, the pressures for the use of the coastline by the port of Lirquén and the overexploitation of resources by industrial fishing have caused a deterioration of existing practices and the disappearance of traditional spaces. That said, it is argued that the cove is currently in a fragile condition in its social, cultural and productive activities, which puts its continuity at risk and makes it necessary to establish strategies to maintain its traditions, identity and history over time.Este artículo tiene por objetivo identi car los procesos de ocupación y cercamiento  que modi caron el territorio y las formas de habitar en la caleta de pescadores Cerro Verde Bajo  y las estrategias implementadas por sus habitantes frente a estos cambios. Se estructura en tres  periodos ligados a los modelos de desarrollo nacional que fueron transformando el borde  costero, el hábitat y las formas de habitar de la caleta. Estas transformaciones se analizan desde  una perspectiva histórica del Área Metropolitana de Concepción (AMC) mediante una revisión  de fuentes primarias (diarios de la época, fotografías, testimonios orales) y secundarias (artículos  académicos, manuales de historia, documentos o ciales). En el caso de Cerro Verde Bajo, las  presiones por el uso del borde costero, por parte del puerto de Lirquén, y la sobreexplotación de  los recursos por la pesca industrial han provocado un deterioro de antiguas prácticas y la  desaparición de espacios tradicionales. Dicho esto, se sostiene que la caleta se encuentra  actualmente en una condición de fragilidad en sus actividades sociales, culturales y productivas,  lo que pone en riesgo su continuidad y hace necesario establecer estrategias para mantener sus  tradiciones, identidad e historia en el tiempo.
