dc.description	The article analyzes how the approach called Historic Urban Landscape has been interpreted and implemented in practice in Latin America. In 1967, the Norms of Quito emerged as the first international document that recognizes monumental urban heritage in Latin America. In 2011 the Recommendation on the Historic Urban Landscape defined a paradigm shift, considering the dynamics of our era. Since then, several cities have defined strategies for implementing this approach. Sixteen cities were identified based on secondary information and were analyzed regarding how they have applied the four types of tools defined in the Recommendation. The results reveal that all the cases have supplied knowledge and planning tools, but only five have integrated all the types of tools at the same time. This reveals that the Historic Urban Landscape has been considered theoretically and as an object of academic analysis and that there are still challenges for its practical implementation.	en-US
dc.description	El artículo analiza cómo el enfoque sobre el Paisaje Urbano Histórico ha sido interpretado e implementado de manera práctica en Latinoamérica. En 1967, las Normas de Quito surgen como el primer documento internacional que reconoce el patrimonio urbano latinoamericano monumental. Luego, en 2011, la Recomendación sobre el Paisaje Urbano Histórico definió un cambio de paradigma, considerando las dinámicas de nuestra era. Desde entonces, una serie de ciudades han definido estrategias para la implementación de dicho enfoque. Se identificaron 16 ciudades, a partir de información secundaria, y se analizó de qué manera han aplicado los cuatro tipos de herramientas definidas en la Recomendación. Los resultados revelan que todos los casos han suministrado esas herramientas de conocimiento y de planificación, pero sólo cinco han integrado todos los tipos a la vez. Ello revela que el Paisaje Urbano Histórico ha sido considerado teóricamente, como objeto de análisis académico y que aún quedan desafíos para su implementación práctica.	es-ES
