| dc.description | The following work studies the relationship between human and environment originated from the occupation of the Araucanía by the Chilean state between 1862 and 1882. The analysis of historical documents would demostrate the relationship that the Chilean society had with the environment, specifically with rivers and forests. The results would show that the Chileans had a perception of the environment in wich it appeared subject to their designs, and which differed radically from the human perception that until then it had in the territory. The Chilean arrival submits to both forests and rivers a substantially different explotation in the area with respect to the past. Therefore, an unprecedented environmental and cultural change in the region of Araucanía is inferred from the state arrival. | en-US |
| dc.description | El siguiente trabajo estudió la relación humano-ambiente vivida en la ocupación de la Araucanía por parte del Estado chileno entre 1862 y 1882. A través del análisis de documentos históricos se investigó la relación que la sociedad chilena mantuvo con el medioambiente, específicamente con los ríos y bosques. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que los chilenos tuvieron una percepción del medioambiente en que éste aparecía supeditado a sus designios, y que se diferenciaba radicalmente de la percepción humana que hasta ese momento había en el territorio. Asimismo, se determinó que el arribo chileno sometió a los bosques y ríos a una explotación que difería sustancialmente a los presentes en la zona. Por consiguiente, se infirieron alteraciones ambientales y culturales inéditas en la región de la Araucanía a partir del arribo estatal. | es-ES |
