The mediation between divinity and man always has played a prominent role in any human community. This role consists in transmitting divine decisions to mortal beings who have suffered from unknowns reasons that holds them for the future. Examples of this are the Hebrew prophets, who have had the mission of both announcing the future (as the prophets) as reporting what future is going to forge in the present. For trying to understand the figure of the Prophet, it is necessary to approach to the historical context of Israel and the corpus of its beliefs.Desde siempre los mediadores entre la divinidad y el hombre han jugado un papel destacado en toda comunidad humana, dado que su papel consiste en transmitir convenientemente las decisiones divinas a seres mortales que sufren por las incógnitas que les depara el porvenir.Un ejemplo de ello lo representan los profetas hebreos, que tuvieron la misión no sólo de anunciar el futuro, (a modo de los videntes), sino denunciar que ese futuro se forjaba en el presente. Para intentar comprender a la figura del profeta es necesario aproximarse al contexto histórico de Israel y al corpus de sus creencias.
