dc.descriptionThe Popular Lyre, as a type of manifestation of collective mentality, manifested itself during the Pacific War (1879-1884) as a divine and ultraterrestrial conflict. Thus, the images of the protector figures such as Saint Rose of Lima in Perú and the Virgin of Carmel in Chile were very important to strengthen help and encourage their respective protégés.Another interesting subject is the representative imaginary that existed in the Chilean popular world where the protection of the Virgin of Carmel was regarded as a sign of the inevitable Chilean triumph in the war.en-US
