dc.description	The aim of this paper is to discuss the philosophical relationship between Johann Gottlieb Fichte (1762-1814) and Friedrich von Hardenberg (Novalis) (1772-1801). The capital aspect to be considered is how they understand the role of the imagination (Einbildungskraft) in their philosophical framework. This analysis leads to determinate what kind of metaphysical relation they establish between the concepts of finite and infinite. This is shown within a particular type of philosophy: the idealism “of the” absolute or of the finite, by contrast to dogmatism and absolute idealism –incarnated in Hegel’s philosophy. As a consequence of this study, through which Fichte’s and Novalis’ philosophical viewpoints are compared, it may be argued that, in order to fully and consistently understand them, it is of importance to highlight the moral dimension of their thought and, specifically, the way in which they describe the power of imagination alongside the achievements of the faculty of reason. In this respect, the relatedness of Fichte’s and Novalis’ proposals with Kant’s critical and practical philosophy is also stressed.	en-US
dc.description	En el presente artículo se analiza la relación filosófica entre la obra de Johann Gottlieb Fichte (1762-1814) y de Friedrich von Hardenberg (Novalis) (1772-1801). En particular se estudia el modo en que uno y otro concibieron el rol de la imaginación (Einbildungskraft) en el marco de sus ideas y pensamientos sobre filosofía. A su vez, este análisis conlleva determinar cuál es el tipo de relación metafísica que ellos establecieron entre los conceptos de lo finito y de lo infinito. Esto último se presenta al interior de una clase particular de filosofía, a saber: el idealismo “de lo” absoluto o de lo finito, por contraposición al dogmatismo filosófico y al idealismo absoluto –encarnado en la filosofía de Hegel. Como consecuencia de este estudio en que se ponen en comparación las posturas de Fichte y de Novalis, se concluye que, para poder comprender de manera coherente sus posiciones, se tiene que resaltar el sentido moral de su pensamiento, en particular respecto de la fuerza de la imaginación en paralelo con los alcances de la facultad de la razón. También se subraya la continuidad de sus planteos respecto de la filosofía crítica y práctica de Kant.	es-ES
