| dc.description | The technique had developed an active role in the constitution of borderlands. The aim of the text is to describe characteristics and functions that technique acquired in two diff erent situations : within the process of formation of the Latin American National States and within the framework of globalization. While in the first period the technique helped tame the nature and fixed the boundaries of national territories, in the second period, it promoted the control over the mobility of population. In the light of this background, it is understood that the technique participates in the reinforcement of the borders of some national states and in the emergence of others that do not necessarily fit with the boundaries of the territories of the states. | dc.description | La técnica ha tenido y tiene un papel activo en la conformación de los ámbitos de frontera. El texto procura comprender las características y funciones que esta adquirió en dos momentos específicos: en el pasado, en proceso de formación de los Estados Nacionales latinoamericanos y, en la actualidad, en el contexto de la globalización. Mientras que en el primer momento la técnica contribuyó a domesticar la naturaleza para establecer de modo fijo y preciso los límites de los territorios, en el segundo, ella se orienta a ejercer el control sobre la movilidad de la población. En este marco, se entiende que ella participa en el reforzamiento de las fronteras de algunos Estados nacionales y en el levantamiento de otras que no necesariamente coinciden con los confines de los territorios de los Estados. A su vez, en este último contexto, los cuerpos son pasibles de ser considerados territorios. | es-ES |
