El artículo analiza las acciones emprendidas por el Real Consulado de La Habana, institución clave para el despegue de la Cuba plantacionista, entre fines del siglo XVIII e inicios del XIX, en particular contra los indios nómadas y sus aliados, los esclavos negros y mestizos, quienes desarrollaron un vigoroso proceso de rebeldías en momentos en que ocurrían profundas transformaciones estructurales, poniendo en peligro la estabilidad de la colonia, situación agravada por la Revolución haitiana y las rebeldías esclavas en Jamaica.The article analyzes the actions undertaken by the Real Consulado de La Habana, a key institution for the take-off of plantationist Cuba, between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, in particular against nomadic Indians and their allies, black and mestizo slaves, who developed a vigorous process of rebellion at a time, when profound structural transformations occurred, jeopardizing the stability of the colony, a situation aggravated by the Haitian Revolution and slave rebellions in Jamaica.
