This article focuses on a reflection on the alleged “constituent process” promoted by the recently elected President of the Republic and his political party, in order to replace the current Constitution of 1993. Constitution questioned not only because of its origin but also because it is often blamed for the social problems that currently afflict the country, such as poverty and corruption. But, the truth is that the Constitution, still in force, has allowed a democratic, institutional, and constitutional stability for more than twenty consecutive years.En el presente artículo nos centramos en una reflexión sobre el pretendido “proceso constituyente” promovido por el recientemente elegido Presidente de la República y su partido político, con la finalidad de relevar a la vigente Constitución de 1993. Constitución cuestionada no solo por su origen, sino, también, porque se le suele atribuir la responsabilidad por los problemas sociales que hoy aquejan al país, como la pobreza y corrupción. Pero lo cierto es que dicha Constitución, aún vigente, ha permitido una estabilidad democrática, institucional y constitucional de más veinte años consecutivos.
