| dc.description | El artículo busca aportar evidencias empíricas sobre el impacto socioterritorial de los Grandes Proyectos Urbanos (GPU) en términos de posible gentrificación y desplazamiento de habitantes originarios de clase baja de su entorno residencial. El caso de estudio es la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, donde se desarrollaron dos GPU emblemáticos entre 1991-2010. Se utiliza una metodología cuantitativa basada en datos censales para la construcción de dos índices para medir gentrificación y desplazamientos, tanto en el entorno específico de los dos GPU como así también en el resto de la ciudad. Los resultados muestran evidencias parciales de gentrificación, mas no de desplazamiento en el entorno de los GPU. En cambio, la intensidad de los desplazamientos habría sido fuerte en otros sectores de la ciudad, principalmente en el norte, donde no hubo GPU ni otras formas emblemáticas de renovación urbana. | es-ES |
| dc.description | This article aims to provide empirical evidence on the socio-territorial impact of Large Urban Projects (LUPs) regarding possible gentrification and displacement of original low-class inhabitants in their residential environment. The case study is Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, where two flagship LUPs were developed between 1991-2010. A quantitative methodology based on census data is used to create two index to measure gentrification and displacement, both in the specific environment of the two LPUs and the rest of the city. Results show partial evidence of gentrification but no displacement in neither LUP environment. Instead, the displacement intensity may have been strong in other parts of the city, mainly in the north, where there were no LUPs or other forms of urban renewal. | en-US |
