| dc.description | This work sought to understand the construction of personal identity in boys and girls belonging to the indigenous Aymara people who live in the altiplano of the northern Chile. The research design was qualitative, using the story-drawing procedure and adopting a narrative strategy for data analysis. The study participants were ten boys and girls from 5 to 9 years old, residing in the highland commune of Putre. Results show the presence of the three dimensions of personal identity raised from constructivism: unity of the self, integration of the self, and integration with others; elements of Aymara culture were observed cross-sectionally in these. The Andean environment was a fourth dimension, emerging as an articulating axis. The complementarity of the cultural and evolutionary aspects in the construction of personal identity in Aymara boys and girls is discussed, implying an approach to think about personal identity that considers the present moment of the worldview and history of the Aymara people, and the particularities of children’s identity. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este trabajo buscó conocer la construcción de identidad personal en niños y niñas pertenecientes al pueblo originario aymara que viven en el altiplano del norte de Chile. El diseño de investigación fue cualitativo, utilizando el procedimiento dibujo-relato y adoptando una estrategia narrativa para el análisis de datos. Los participantes del estudio fueron diez niños y niñas de 5 a 9 años de edad residentes en la comuna altiplánica de Putre. Como resultados se observó la presencia de las tres dimensiones de la identidad personal planteadas desde el constructivismo: unidad del sí mismo, integración del sí mismo e integración con los otros, observándose transversalmente elementos de la cultura aymara en estas. El entorno andino fue una cuarta dimensión, emergiendo como un eje articulador. Se discute la complementariedad de los aspectos culturales y evolutivos en la construcción de identidad personal en los niños y niñas aymara, implicando un enfoque para pensar la identidad personal que considiera lo actual de la cosmovisión e historia del pueblo aymara, y las particularidades de la identidad infantil. | es-ES |
