| dc.description | The article analyses the main historical and documentary sourcesregarding the development of the areas near Guachuraba Hill during the second half of the sixteenth century, when the first sociocultural foundations of the conquerors emerged and were established in the central valley in Chile. This study also allows to re-discover Guachuraba Hill as an area where important, economic and religious labours were developed, first by the laity and then continued by the Order of Preachers. Finally, this research seeks to demonstrate that Guacharaba Hill had a crucial role and a strategic place before, during and after the foundation of Santiago from a transport, commercial and religious point of view.Keywords: Monserratt Hermintage, dominicos, central Chile. | en-US |
| dc.description | El artículo analiza las principales fuentes históricas y documentales respecto del desarrollo que tuvieron los sectores aledaños al cerro Guachuraba (actual cerro Blanco) durante la segunda mitad del siglo XVI, período en que se iniciaron y establecieron los primeros cimientos socioculturales de los conquistadores en el valle central de Chile. Este estudio además permite redescubrir al cerro Guachuraba como un espacio donde se desarrollaron importantes labores económicas y religiosas, primero por laicos y luego continuadas por la Orden de Predicadores. Finalmente, con esta investigación se busca demostrar que el Cerro Guachuraba fue pieza fundamental antes, durante y después de que se realizó la fundación de Santiago de Chile, pues fue un sector es- tratégico desde el punto de vista vial, comercial y religioso.Palabras clave: Ermita Monserrat, cerro Guachuraba, dominicos, Chile central. | es-ES |
