| dc.description | After distinguishing among many maps those that contained the city of the Caesars, the graphic trajectory of this possible place has been reconstructed. Diverting our focusing from drawings of the city itself, this work understands its presence as a place expressed through concrete actions located in the Patagonian space (routes) and in the form of legends or explanations written on these maps. This study inspects 15 items of distinct nature and with different objectives, of which we have inquired into the sources of information that made the nonexistent city take place in cartography. By proposing the reverse process, that is, contrasting what the maps say and how they say it, with the written sources, it is possible to better understand the ways through which the information circulated, and the process through which the southern border was given historical content.Keywords: City of Cesars, Patagonia, Cartography, Modern Age. | en-US |
| dc.description | Luego de distinguir entre muchos mapas aquellos que contenían a la ciudad a los Césares, se ha reconstruido la trayectoria gráfica de este lugar posible. Se trata la presencia como lugar expresado en acciones concretas en el espacio patagónico (rutas) y en forma de leyendas o explicaciones escritas en estos mapas. Son 15 piezas de distinta naturaleza entre sí y con objetivos diversos, de las que nos hemos preguntado cuáles son las fuentes de información que hicieron que la inexistente ciudad haya tomado forma en la cartografía. Proponiendo el proceso inverso, es decir, contrastar lo que los mapas dicen y cómo lo dicen, con las fuentes escritas, se pueden conocer mejor los caminos por donde circulaba la información, y el proceso en que se fue dotando de contenido histórico el confín austral.Palabras clave: ciudad de los Césares, Patagonia, Cartografía, Época Moderna. | es-ES |
