dc.descriptionThe text analyzes the automatic representation of the narrator Benjamí­n Vicuña Mackenna and his construction of the people, as resistance to the hegemonic conservative power in the year 1858. Through the "bells" artifact, objects that allow/prohibit discourse, the narrator denounces this power at the time it is built as a voice of the people in opposition to this hegemony. The text analyzed here is unpublished, so its recovery is both heritage and critical. Although we used to recognize the texts of Vicuña Mackenna as works of political and social analysis of nineteenth-century Chilean society, there are few public texts in which the author represents himself as intellectual, wandering around the city. This analysis was made from the category of representation, which allowed us to delve into the forms in the appropriate author the discourse to show as an intellectual resistant to the conservative power held by Manuel Montt (1851-1861).en-US
dc.descriptionEl texto analiza la autorrepresentación del narrador Benjamí­n Vicuña Mackenna y su construcción del pueblo, como resistencia al poder hegemónico conservador en el año 1858. A través del artefacto "campanas" , objetos que permiten/prohí­ben el discurso, el narrador denuncia este poder al tiempo que se construye como una voz del pueblo en oposición a esta hegemoní­a. El texto aquí­ analizado es inédito, por lo que su recuperación es tanto patrimonial como crí­tica. Si bien acostumbramos a reconocer los textos de Vicuña Mackenna como obras de análisis polí­tico y social de la sociedad chilena decimonónica, son pocos los textos públicos en los que el autor se autorrepresenta como intelectual, deambulando por la ciudad. Este análisis se realiza a partir de la categorí­a de representación, la que nos permite ahondar en las formas en que el autor se apropia del discurso para mostrarse como un intelectual resistente al poder conversador detentado por Manuel Montt (1851-1861).es-ES
