This article studies the journal El Pizarrón, which is analyzed from the reading of its editions and interviews with members of its editorial committee. El Pizarrón represented the most important educational publication of the opposition to the Augusto Pinochet dictatorship and its pedagogical, political and union motivations were linked to the ideological renewal process that Chilean socialism experienced during the 1980s. The above was translated mainly in a turn given by the magazine regarding the role that the State and the private sector should assume in the educational administration, as well as regarding the most appropriate organizational structure for Chilean teachers.En el presente artículo se estudia la revista El Pizarrón, la que es analizada a partir de la lectura de sus ediciones y de entrevistas a integrantes de su comité editorial. El Pizarrón representó la publicación educacional más importante de la oposición a la dictadura de Augusto Pinochet y sus motivaciones pedagógicas, políticas y sindicales se vincularon al proceso de renovación ideológica que experimentó el socialismo chileno durante la década de 1980. Lo anterior se tradujo principalmente en un giro dado por la revista respecto al rol que el Estado y los privados debían asumir en la administración educacional, como también respecto a la estructura organizativa más apropiada para los docentes chilenos.
