| dc.description | In this work we want to present to the reader unfamiliar with the indigenous cultures of Northern Chile, all the aspects related to the construction among the pastoral communities of the Chilean altiplano, in the Pampa de Lirima, (approx. 4,000 m.) (1) (See Plan, Fig. 1.). This study arose from a one-week visit to several settlements of this pastoral group, especially to the sanctuary town of Cultane (19Q 45' Lat. S, and 689 58' Long W.; Fig. 21), on the occasion of the festivity of its Patron Saint, St. James, which is celebrated every year on July 25. We were accompanied on this occasion by anthropologist Juan van Kessel (July 1973). | en-US |
| dc.description | En este trabajo queremos presentar al lector poco familiarizado con las culturas indígenas del Norte de Chile, todos los aspectos relativos a la construcción entre las comunidades pastoras del altiplano chileno, en la Pampa de Lirima, (aprox. 4.000 m.) (1) (Ver Plano, Fig. 1.). Este estudio brotó de una visita de una semana practicada a varios asentamientos de este grupo pastoril, máxime al pueblo-santuario de Cultane (19Q 45' Lat. S, y 689 58' Long W.; Fig. 21), con ocasión de la festividad de su Santo Patrono, San Santiago, que se celebra todos los años el 25 de julio.
