dc.descriptionln the Chilean arid septentrional zone, over the Capricorn Tropic latitude it makes the study of the vegetal profile from the littoral to the high Andes Mountains. This analysis has a particularly phytogeographic interest to the Chilean Puna (bleak region) vegetal ecology, in this area localizated between 3000 and 4000 mts. The altitude, clima and soil influence appoint very special biotopes, and they can be check with the Bolivian-Peruvian Altiplano (table-land) ecological environment within is insetted our labour area. The bíological conditions are fundamentally due to the altitude appoint to the way of life to the Antofagasta Altiplano; little folk and theirs agrícola and shepherds activities are very connected with the high-andine ecological environment fragility. The agrícola use of land with acclimated cultivation can show the great knowledge that the Altiplano habitant has of my limitation and profit in order to the um a vegetal and animal life they are offered by the ecological factors to the high-andine environment.en-US
dc.descriptionA la latitud del Trópico de Capricornio, en el norte árido chileno, se hace el estudio de una transecta vegetal desde el litoral hasta los altos Andes (de W a E). El análisis general de la ecología vegetal de la Puna chilena, situada entre los 3.000 y 4.000 metros en este sector, tiene un particular interés fitogeográfico. La influencia de la altura, clima y suelo, determina la existencia de biotopos altamente especializados que pueden ser confrontados con el medio ecológico del altiplano boliviano-peruano y en el cual se inserta nuestra área de trabajo. Las condiciones biológicas, especialmente influenciadas por la altura, determinan a su vez, las formas de vida de los habitantes de los pequeños pueblos del altiplano antofagastino, cuyas actividades agrícolas-pastoriles están en estrecha relación y dependencia con la fragilidad del medio alto-andino. El uso agrícola del suelo está reflejado a través de cultivos totalmente adaptados y determinados por las condiciones ecológicas del lugar, esto demuestra el conocimiento profundo que tiene el habitante puneño de las limitaciones y beneficios que ofrece el paisaje altiplánico a la vida humana, vegetal y animal.es-ES
