dc.descriptionThe Agrarian Reform brought about radical changes in the land structure. The process itself consisted of the redistribution of agricultural land in order to improve the situation of landless peasants and increase agricultural productivity. The expropriations were of varying intensity in the different regions of the country, with the Central Zone and the Magallanes region being generally the most affected. The evolution of the process did not produce the expected results and currently about 40% of the favored peasants have sold their plots and have become agricultural workers.en-US
dc.descriptionLa Reforma Agraria produjo cambios radicales en la estructura predial. El proceso mismo consistió en la redistribución de las tierras agrícolas, con el fin de mejorar la situación de los campesinos sin tierras y de aumentar la productividad  agrícola. Las expropiaciones tuvieron distinta intensidad en las diferentes regiones del país, siendo. en general, las más afectadas las regionesde la Zona Centraly la regiónde Magallanes.La evolución del proceso no produjo los resultados esperados y actualmente alrededor del 40% de los campesinos favorecidos han vendido sus parcelas y se han transformado en obreros agrícolas.es-ES
