dc.descriptionThis study analyzes the national urban system during the 1982-1992 intercensal period, with the main objective of characterizing the evolution and differentiation of the system according to the size and growth rate of the cities. The cities considered in this work are a representative sample of the population living in urban areas, since they correspond to 76.1% of the country's population and 0191.1% of its urban population. The analysis was carried out in cities with more than 10,000 inhabitants, considering methodologically as a single unit those cities that reached, as a result of their horizontal growth, the process of urbanization. A total of 96 cities were studied, allowing the results to show the evolution of the national urban system in the last intercensus.en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente trabajo analiza el sistema urbano nacional en el período intercensal 1982-1992. teniendo como objetivo principal poder caracterizar la evolución y la diferenciación del sistema. de acuerdo al tamaño y al ritmo de crecimiento de las ciudades. Las ciudades consideradas en este trabajo son una muestra representativa de la población que habita en áreas urbanas. ya que corresponden al 76.1% de la población del país y 0191 ,1% de su población urbana. El análisis se realizó en las ciudades de más de 10.000 habitantes, considerando metodolágicamente como una sola unidad a aquellas ciudades que llegaron, producto de su crecimiento horizontal, al proceso deconurbación. Entotalse trabajócon 96 ciudades. permitiendo los resultados conocer cuál ha sido la evolución del sistema urbano nacional en el último intercenso.es-ES
