This article presents some general considerations regarding the development of the Social Housing Programs in the city of Santiago in the period 1978-1995. The analysis carried out from the perspective of the territorial implications of housing policies aimed at low-income social sectors in the last twenty years, shows some characteristic features of the spaces that have been generated in the capital of the country from Social Housing throughout the twentieth century.El presente artículo expone algunas consideraciones generales respecto del desarrollo de los Prograrnus de Vivienda Social en la ciudad de Santiago en el período 1978-1995. El análisis realizado desde la perspectiva de las implicancias territoriales de las políticas habitacionales destinadas a los sectores sociales de escasos recursos. en los últimos veinte años, muestra algunos rasgos característicos de los espacios que se han generado en la capital del país a partir de la Vivienda Social a lo largo del siglo XX.
