Beyond the advances in decentralization, Chile must deepen in a very important way the second great axis of regional development; the functioning of the deconcentrated State apparatus. This text is intended as a contribution to a discussion, and has been prepared in view of the necessary adjustments that the functioning of the State apparatus at the regional level will have to undergo, both as a result of the measures announced in the Presidential Message of last May 21 and the adjustments that seem inevitable in the current state of affairs in terms of regional development planning.Más allá de los avances en materia de descentralización, Chile debe profundizar de manera muy importante el segundo gran eje en materia de desarrollo regional; el funcionamiento del aparato desconcentrado del Estado. El presente texto pretende ser una contribución para una discusión, y ha sido elaborado a propósito de los necesarios ajustes que deberá experimentar el funcionamiento del aparato del Estado a nivel regional, tanto a partir de las medidas anunciadas en el Mensaje Presidencial del 21 de mayo pasado como de los ajustes que parecen inevitables el actual estado de cosas en materia de planificación de desarrollo regional.
