dc.descriptionIn the fog oases of Punta Patache the vegetation distribution is mainly due to topographical features and micro-relief (altitude, orientation of slopes and substrate) which determining the fog water availability which constitutes the main source of water at place. The objective of this biogeographical study in this oasis was to determine the location and distribution of a particular class of vegetation (shrubs), and recognize their species and phytosociology in relationship to environmental indicators. A survey was done in two sectors of the coastal cliff showing different exposure to the predominant winds; in the 24 sampling sites selected, seven shrub species were found. The plants were measured and the associated herbs were analyzed. Parameters such as frequency, density and coverage were also studied.en-US
dc.descriptionEn el oasis de niebla de Punta Patache las características de topografía y microrrelieve (altitud, exposición y sustrato) son decisivas para la presencia de la vegetación ya que definen y determinan la disponibilidad del agua de niebla que es la fuente principal de este recurso en el lugar. Se realizó un estudio biogeográfico en dicho oasis que tuvo como objetivo principal conocer la localización y distribución de la vegetación arbustiva, identificar sus especies y analizar sus características fitosociológicas en función de indicadores ambientales. Se hizo un levantamiento de esta información en dos sectores con distinta exposición a los vientos predominantes; en 24 parcelas de muestreo se encontraron 7 especies arbustivas. Además de medirse cada uno de los 219 individuos presentes, se establecieron parámetros tales como vitalidad, frecuencia, densidad y cobertura y se indicó igualmente, las especies herbáceas asociadas.es-ES
