| dc.description | The investigation carried out shows the localization and spatial-temporal behavior of upwelling focuses of the coast border of the North of Chile, in the area among the 70º and 71º W Longitude, and the 18º and 24º South Latitude. The study was made through the observation and analysis of satellite images that point out the Sea Surface Temporal (SST) in the area, during two years which presented opposite ocean-atmospheric conditions, corresponding to a cold event “Niña 1996-1997”, and later on, a warm event “Niño 1997-1998”. | en-US |
| dc.description | La investigación realizada muestra la localización y comportamiento espacio-temporal de los focos de surgencia presentes en el borde litoral del Norte de Chile, en la zona comprendida entre los 70º y 71º Longitud Oeste, y los 18º y 24º Latitud Sur. El estudio se efectuó a través de la observación y análisis de imágenes de satélite que señalan la Temperatura Superficial del Mar (TSM) en el área, durante dos años consecutivos, los cuales presentaron condiciones océano-atmosféricas opuestas quecorresponden al desarrollo de un evento frío “La Niña 1996-97”, y a un evento cálido “El Niño 1997-98”. | es-ES |
