Vegetation classification and and cover prediction from Ninhue County obtained through satellite image interpretation are shown in this article. Three SPOT-XS images from the years 1988, 1995 and 2000 were used to classify and cover. Tree planting presented the greatest changes over the study period, which increased in a 166%. On the other hand, prairies experienced a negative change by decreasing in a 41%. Land cover prediction was obtained through the use o Markov's chains. In general, those and cover with higher presence of biomass (i.e. native orest and tree planting) will increase their presence, and those with ower biomass (i.e. prairies and espinos) will have the tendency to decrease.  Clasificaciones vegetacionales y predicción de cambios obtenidos de imágenes de satélite de la comuna de Ninhue se presentan en este articulo. Tres imágenes de satélite SPOT-XS de los años 1988, 1995 y 2000 fueron usadas para clasificar coberturas vegetacionales. La cobertura vegetacional que mayores cambios positivos experimentó fue la plantación forestal, la cual aumentó en un $66%. Por otro lado,la cobertura vegetacional que tuvo un cambio negativo fue la pradera con una disminución de 41%. La predicción de cambios de cobertura vegetacional se obtuvo mediante el uso de las Cadenas de Markov. En general , se aprecia que las coberturas de mayor biomasa (bosque nativo y plantación forestal) aumentarán su presencia, en cambio, aquellas coberturas de menor biomasa (praderas, espinos) tenderán a decrecer.
