| dc.description | This article analyzes the tsunamis happened in Chile, on the base of variables that, related, they allow to characterize the
phenomenon. For it is elaborated a database synthesis from the tsunamis of near origin to our coast for the period 1562-2000, considering the event localization, generator earthquake magnitude (M), hypocenter depth, tsunami magnitude (m) and the maximum bench mark of flood (run-up). This way, they are defined occurrence frequency, seismic events type and their correlation with the magnitude of the generated tsunami. Concluding, is carried out a space characterization of the phenomenon, in function of their localization along the continental territory of Chile. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo analiza los tsunamis ocurridos en Chile, sobre la base del estudio de variables de orden físico que, relacionadas, permiten caracterizar el fenómeno. Para ello se elabora una base de datos de síntesis de los tsunamis de origen cercano a nuestras costas para el período 1562–2000, considerando la localización del evento, la magnitud (M) del sismo generador, la profundidad del hipocentro, la magnitud (m) del tsunami y la cota máxima de inundación (run-up). De este modo, se definen: frecuencia de ocurrencia, tipología de eventos sísmicos y su correlación con la magnitud del tsunami generado. Finalizando, se realiza una caracterización espacial del fenómeno, en función de su localización a lo largo del territorio de Chile continental. | es-ES |
