This study analyse the spatial and temporal distribution od the beetles in the fog oasis of Alto Patache, Tarapacá, and its relations with the geographica actors, during the period October 2001-January 2002. The results obtained show that the spatial distribution o the insects responds to geomorphologic, micro-topographica and substratum. These basically favor the habitability of the space, due to its capacity to give shelter to species, and more important, or its hydrological availability. The temporal distribution of some species is determined by the meteorological conditions variation.En el presente trabajo se analiza la distribución espacial y temporal de la entomofauna de coleópteros en el oasis de niebla de Alto Patache, Tarapacá, y su relación con actores geográficos, durante el período octubre 2001-enero 2002. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que la distribución espacial de los insectos responde a características geomorfológicas, microtopográficas y de sustrato. Estas, favorecen básicamente a habitabilidad de espacio, por su capacidad de ofrecer refugio a las especies y, más significativamente aún, por favorecer a disponibiidad hídrica. Por otra parte, la distribución tempora de algunas especies está determinada por la variación de las condiciones meteorológicas.
