The objetive of this study is to disclose the work of Don José Balmaceda, published in Santiago de Chile in 1875, which is the Manual de Hacendado Chileno, and interesting antecedent or economical history and the agrarian geography of mother country. It is possible to indicate, that the existence of sma book was not known, therefore, it had not been mentioned nor described in any scientific publication until today.  Este estudio tiene como objeto divulgar el trabajo de Don Manue José de Balmaceda, publicado en Santiago de Chile en 1875, el cua es el primer Manual del Hacendado Chileno y un interesante antecedente para a historia económica y la geografía agraria de nuestra patria. Cabe señalar, que de este pequeño ibro no se conocía su existencia y por o tanto no había sido antes mencionado, ni descrito, en ninguna publicación científica hasta e presente.
