| dc.description | Like result of the interaction of multiple geographic circumstances, it has been developed in the province of the Chaco, in the
north of the Argentine Republic, the cotton culture. The agricultural reality of this territory has implied a series of recurrent
problems whose examination constitutes the main objective of this work.
To the specialization in a very demanding culture and of very oscillating and unstable commercial demand, it was added, in
the case chaqueño, the predominance of small producers and the recurrence of unfavorable natural phenomena (floods),
particularly in second half of century XX. The agricultural sector responded trying diversifications, but the result meant,
basically, the alternancia of crisis and temporal successes to return to the dependency of the cotton. | en-US |
| dc.description | Como resultado de la interacción de múltiples circunstancias geográficas, se ha desarrollado en la provincia del Chaco, en el
norte de la República Argentina, el cultivo algodonero. La realidad agrícola de este territorio ha implicado una serie de
problemas recurrentes cuyo examen constituye el objetivo principal de este trabajo.
A la especialización en un cultivo muy exigente y de demanda comercial muy oscilante e inestable, se agregó, en el caso
chaqueño, el predominio de pequeños productores y la recurrencia de fenómenos naturales desfavorables (inundaciones),
particularmente en la segunda mitad del siglo XX. El sector agrícola respondió ensayando diversificaciones, pero el resultado
significó, básicamente, la alternancia de crisis y éxitos temporarios para retornar a la dependencia del algodón. | es-ES |
